HOST: CITY archived a series of projects, events and interventions that occurred within and around the city in the three years preceding the HOST exhibition, collated through open submission. The submissions that were received, catalogued and presented include works from a variety of professional, emerging and undergraduate artists, organisations and institutions. The diversity of projects included intended to both highlight differences and raise debate around a range of practices and notions of site specificity, the influence of art practice within the conditions of urban space, and the boundaries of organisations and institutions within the city.
The archive will continue to develop, and comes to act as a structure in which these projects can be catalogued and circulated.
