A mobile platform was constructed with the intention of providing a portable scenic view on demand. Knowingly ridiculous in function and design, the platform is a tool with which I emphasised act of looking within the everyday environment. The role of a traditional countryside lookout point, in which the scenic view is predefined as valuable to the onlooker, is here subverted, and the platform comes to allow an elevated perspective on any location. However, the platform struggles to be a functional, aesthetically impressive self-contained art object, and the perspective it offers is only altered slightly in height, little more than is offered by standing on a table or by the natural hillside locations within the city.
